The following rules are put in place to make your involvement with the site fun and functional. Please follow them or discipline will be given to enforce them. This punishment can fall anywhere from a written warning from the staff all the way to an IP ban.
1. No OOC[Out of Character/Real Life] Insults
This cannot be stressed enough. It is listed first because it is by far the most important. If you insult another player/member or make any sort of threat to them, you will be immediately punished with a temporary ban until the staff feels you are ready to be brought back. There is no tolerance for this kind of behavior. We're all here to have fun.
2. Absolutely No IC/OOC Crossing
From my personal experience on other sites, this is the second biggest issue. Problems between characters does not mean problems between players. And do not turn this into such. If two characters don't get along they can insult each other and fight in their roleplay interaction together. But as soon as someone crosses the line and insults a player for their character's actions or behavior, warnings will be issued. But keep in mind that insults, in general, should be kept to a minimum.
3. Limited Power-Playing/God-Moding
Just because the Na'vi species is strong, does not make them invincible. Clearly they can bleed and they can even die. However, you may not kill a player's character unless they have already given their consent. This can occur for plot if nothing else or if you've lost your inspiration for the character. This character cannot be brought back to life unless the staff come to a unanimous decision to do so and create a plot for such a thing. If your character is a child, they cannot over-power an adult. It's that simple. The only allowance that might be looked over is a young-adult Na'vi over-powering an adult Human. Other than that? No. There can be no super-humans. There can be so super-Na'vi. If characters engage in a fight a staff member or someone with a high rank in the tribe or community [depending on species] must be present to determine whether an attack is viable or not. Also, if you do not know how to roleplay fights, it is suggested you avoid them.
4. Explicit [R-Rated] Content
If you plan on involving your character in a hot and steamy session with their partner or even some random stranger, don't. You can mark a thread with an "[M]" for Mature and while we do encourage creativity, the TOS provided by ProBoards does not allow writing equivalent to the script of a porno. Even if it's a badly written porno. Just don't do it. If you really feel the need to go that far into detail then take the roleplay to a third party medium until you've finished and can resume posting on the board. References to drugs violence should also be subtle and without great detail. Drug use and excessive alcoholism is not allowed and will result in a thread being hidden for review by the staff. Hard drugs such as heroine or cocaine or anything to that degree aren't even likely to be on Pandora anyways. Likewise, getting into the nitty-gritty, gory detail of each violent action when fighting or even hunting will result in a thread being hidden for review by the staff. After the staff has reviewed the content in question the punishments will be decided.
Do not argue with the staff after the decision has been made. Consider this your fair warning. Any arguments can lead to a temporary ban.
5. Posting Character Minimum
If you attempt to make a post in the In Character sections that is less than 500 characters, you won't be able to. Anything under 500 characters [including letters, numbers, and punctuation] can not be submitted for a post. Enter Pandora is expected to be a Moderately Literate to Advanced Literate roleplay forum, hence why this limit is put in place. It's really not so bad and mostly to prevent one-line posts so that there's enough quantity to build a reply off of and keep the thread going.
6. Avatars and Signatures
Avatars may be no bigger than 100w x 100h pixels. If you try to make it bigger, it won't work. If you want, you could have either the w or h be 100 and the opposite be less. That's fine too.
Signatures may be no bigger than 500w x 150h pixels. If you make them bigger than this your signature will be completely removed until you've resized it.
7. One Character Per Account
As of right now it doesn't matter how many characters you have as long as you can keep up with all of them and all of the threads they're involved in. But please create separate accounts for the separate characters. You can create them using the same email address, that's fine. But it would just be easier for everyone else to keep track of who's who if they're separate.
8. No Spamming
Do not PM links of other forums/websites to members who have not asked for them. If you want to advertise sites there's a board specifically for that. If we get complaints about someone doing this the staff will issue a warning. Also, do not put any links in your signature or personal text. This will also result in a warning and the text will be removed.
9. Most importantly, have fun. We're all here because of a common interest so there's no reason we shouldn't enjoy ourselves.
