It is the Earth year 2167 AD.
This is Pandora; so named by the Sky People. Home of the Na'vi; the Omaticaya; The People. All Na'vi clans live in harmony on this planet -- for now, at least -- connected by the All Mother, Eywa; united by Toruk Makto, the one who brought peace in the Time of Sorrow; and led by their strong Olo'eyktans and faithful Tsahìks. This is a Roleplay Forum based off of James Cameron's 'Avatar'.

Announcements Any general board announcements, alerts, notices, et cetera, will go here. If it is an extremely important announcement it will be posted here and also appear at the top of all other boards.
The Cliffs are home to the tribe of Na'vi that rely solely on the ikran for transportation, living in caves set into the side of the rock-face with the bird-like creatures living on the top edge of the cliff in stone nests, large boulders shielding them from the rest of the inland, but this makeshift wall is not impassable when on foot or horse.

The Coast is not inhabited permanently by any Na'vi, but is a pleasant place to visit, the temperature always moderate except for the bitterest phases of Winter. The sunset is an extraordinary sight, the oranges, reds, and yellows catching not only on the water but also on the plant that is constantly seen on Pandora's horizon, making the blue gases and ice glow brightly.

The Forest is where the largest known population of Na'vi live, their original Hometree destroyed by the RDA, they now live in two smaller trees that grow together towards the base of their trunks and provide a decent amount of room for all families to live and grow. The forest is also the most dangerous territory, filled with a wide variety of predators.
The legendary floating mountains of Pandora, the Hallelujah Mountains house the ikran, the bird-like creatures used by some tribes of Na'vi to travel and hunt. To get here involves a trek using horses up the sides of Pandora's taller grounded mountains, and then the rest of the trip must be made on foot, climbing through the canopies of trees to large boulders suspended with roots and vines, only to make a daring leap onto another set of hanging vines and roots of the floating mountains. They are also riddled with waterfalls and give a breathtaking view if you survive the trip. All young warriors must journey here to claim their ikran and prove themselves. When flying here, one must always be on the watch for Taruk, Last Shadow.

Another tribe of Na'vi inhabit the Plains, using only horses to travel, living in tee-pee styled homes built from fronds of smaller plants weaved together and circle around unique trees that sprout randomly across the grasslands, consisting of a thinner and crookedly upright trunk with a crown of branches and leaves, much different from the lush trees of the Forest.

There are many waterfalls throughout Pandora, many in the Forest and Hallelujah mountains, but there is one that is more beautiful than the rest, with water that seems aglow, lit up by the luminous properties of the soil, surrounded by exotic plants that are both attractive and sweetly potent during the day and night. The night is the best time to be here though, if you can avoid the Forest predators, the light show unlike anything ever witnessed before.

The Tree of Souls is the most sacred place of the Na'vi, where prayers are heard and sometimes answered. In times of great Sorrow or devastation the Na'vi will gather here and pray to Eywa. This is also where the memories and voices of ancestors can be heard when the Tsahaylu, the bond, is made with the luminescent strands of the tree.
The Burial grounds of the Na'vi are located within the enormous roots of trees located around the Tree of Souls, the tribes that do not already live in the Forest will create a caravan and trek to this area to properly bless the fallen and will their spirit to Eywa.
This is the Compound that the RDA was forced out of and is now the home of the humans that were allowed to stay behind on Pandora and make families of their own. There is still a large fence around the Compound to protect them from the predators of the Forest, but Avatars and Na'vi alike move freely in the outdoor parts of the structure in the gardens and activity sections that include basketball courts and other sport areas.
(1 sub-board) This is the lab part of the Compound where most of the research still being performed on Pandora's biology goes on. This is also where Avatars are grown and incubated, and the Link Room is branched off of.
Absences If you're going to be absent for a while or taking a break from roleplaying, then post it here so that anyone involved in threads with you will know. Also, be sure and state whether they can continue without you or you want the thread saved to come back to.

Ideas & Suggestions If you have any plot ideas that you would like to get people involved in, make a thread here describing it and how many people, what gender, et cetera. If you have a plot idea involving the entire board, please PM the admin with information about it for approval first. Also, if anyone has any suggestions on how the site could be better, don't be afraid to post them here!
